Instagram is now sending some unsolicited email to all its users by selecting a post from their friend’s news feed. It is done for re – unification of people who have separated their path from the social media network. It is updating all its users with all the information in the reserve chronological order so that all its users can just log in to see the latest news. In this way, the people also receive fresh content but there is also a risk of missing some important news due to regular updates of news feed. You can also enjoy getting the new updates of the Instagram emails as you will get only the most popular content of your contacts. However, only a few users are receiving highlights and upgraded emails and email subscriptions have not been built into the account settings of the websites.
Instagram claims that it is using such kind of promotional activity for the first time although its parent company, Facebook, has been using such notifications to alert its users. However, Instagram is not the only social networking site that uses such tools for re- engagement of its users, Twitter also does the same. Twitter’s new tool ‘While you were away’ puts all the old popular tweets at the top of the news feed and also revamps the Discover page to bring all the popular tweets and the most trending story together. Meanwhile, Pinterest sends email notifications to users when their friends join.
